We couldn't wait for ...

THE CHRISTMAS PARTY!

4th December 2013

CDFAS members gathered for a festive Christmas dinner in the beautiful restored historic Sussex barn at Cranleigh Golf and Country Club on Wednesday 4th December.  After a lovely meal and in convivial company the 110 members tested their cognitive skills on the toughest quiz yet from Jonathan Cross.  The winning table achieved just 62%; so CDFAS members must try harder in future!  The six rounds of questions, puzzles and teasers would have challenged members with even the IQ of the London Mayor.

Sadly one member fell ill during the evening but members responded generously by donating the raffled day of golf as an incentive to a speedy and full recovery.  The raffle rewarded more than twenty winners with the proceeds going to “Young Arts”.

Chairman John Baker reminded us all of the great work funded this year by CDFAS at five local schools including Wey House School, St Josephs Specialist School and College, St Cuthbert Mayne Primary School, Cranleigh Church of England Primary School and Park Mead Primary School for the “Young Arts” programme and thanking especially Pat Morgan and Jan Fricker for their hard work to make it all happen.

A very happy evening was had by all.

Stephen Dennison
